global statement of faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, and the premier authority in matters of religion.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons-  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the full deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virginial conception, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the salvation of lost and sinful people through regeneration by the Holy Spirit, whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus, justified by God, resulting in peace and favor with God.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, indwelling the Christian to empower a godly life, the fruit of the Spirit, and the exercise of their spiritual gifts and callings.

We believe in the church as a local body of baptized believers, associated by loving fellowship through Christ, and the church as the redeemed people of God through the ages, by grace, through faith in Christ.

We believe in baptism by immersion in water, as an act of joyous obedience, and as a symbol of the believer’s faith in Christ, their death to sin, and their commitment to walk in newness of life.

We believe in the Lord’s Supper or communion, as a symbolic act, whereby believers of the church, by partaking of the bread and fruit of the vine, memorialize and remember the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, and anticipate his second coming as an act of hope.

We believe in the Kingdom of God, as the rule and reign of God over all creation, and the realm of salvation into which humans enter by grace through faith.  As disciples of Christ and citizens of the Kingdom, we pray and labor for justice and righteousness upon the earth, as it is in heaven, and we hopefully anticipate the full consummation of the Kingdom at the end of the age.

We believe  in the resurrection of the dead, the glorification of believers in the new age, and the eternal existence of the unrighteous, separated from help and hope.
